Passenger dies after single-vehicle crash in Dauphin County

A young woman died in a single-vehicle crash on a recent Thursday morning. The collision happened during early morning hours, a little before 1 a.m. in Dauphin County. The woman who died was 20 years old and hailed from Bloomsburg.

The collision happened when the driver, a 20-year-old man, lost control of the passenger vehicle while negotiating a turn in South Hanover Township. The vehicle exited the roadway, struck a sign and collided with a tree.

The driver and additional two passengers survived the collision. They were rushed to the Pennsylvania State Hershey Medical Center by helicopter.

At this time, police have not released any information pertaining to how this tragic crash may have occurred. It is unknown if alcohol, drugs, speeding or some other legal violation may have caused the crash. It is also unknown what kind of charges the driver will face related to the crash.

Whenever a fatal accident happens like this, it is essential that authorities perform their investigations thoroughly to determine who was at fault. Not only is this process important to bring the any unlawfully acting parties to criminal justice, but it is also important to reveal facts and information that victims and their families can use in personal injury and wrongful death claims.

A successfully navigated wrongful death claim pertaining to a Pennsylvania car accident will not resolve the grief and sadness experienced by family members of the person who died. However, if successfully navigated, a wrongful death action could bring them much-needed financial compensation to pay for end of life expenses, lost family income and other categories of damages.
