Thousands of defective Ventolin asthma inhalers recalld

Imagine you go to the doctor for your asthma condition and you receive a prescription for an inhaler that's supposed to treat your condition. The problem is, the inhaler isn't delivering the right amount of medicine when administering a dose, and this is putting your life at risk.

The idea sounds terrifying, but that's exactly what happened to many patients in the United Kingdom who received prescriptions for the defective Ventolin Accuhaler. The company recently issued a recall of 6,000 defective inhalers that pose a threat to the health of the patients who are using them. According to the manufacturer, the faulty inhalers were not administering full doses when used.

Ventolin Accuhaler inhalers are intended for treatment when patients are suffering from asthma attacks. Patients use the inhalers as needed when they are experiencing tightness in their chests, wheezing, breathlessness and coughing. Patients who don't experience relief from taking their usual dosages with these devices run the risk of becoming frightened and having their asthma situation worsen into a full attack. Patients throughout the United Kingdom are being asked to return the following inhalers to the pharmacy for a recall and replacement:

  • SERETIDE ACCUHALER INHALER 50/250MCG –1X60D, Lot: 5K8W, Expiration date: 28/04/2019
  • VENTOLIN ACCUHALER INHALER 200MCG –1X60D, Lot: 754P, Expiration date: 11/05/2019
  • VENTOLIN ACCUHALER INHALER 200MCG –1X60D, Lot: 786G, Expiration date: 12/05/2019

United States asthma patients are encouraged to ask their doctors at any time they suspect that their asthma inhalers might not be providing the intended result. Furthermore, those injured as a result of defective asthma inhalers may want to investigate their legal rights and options regarding the pursuit of financial damages in court.
